We are delighted to offer the opportunity to of a Consultant in Anaesthesia, with a specialist interest in Major Abdominal Surgery (Colorectal and Urology) to join us in the dynamic Anaesthetic department within East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
There will also be opportunities to specialise in anaesthesia for a variety of surgical specialities dependant on individual interests and training. Specialities include robotic surgery, obstetric, day case, gynaecology, breast, ENT, maxillo-facial, trauma & orthopaedics, paediatric, ophthalmology as well as preoperative assessment.
Candidates are invited to apply for the above post, working in our Anaesthesia Department at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust on a full-time basis including on-call duties.
The department provides anaesthetic, acute pain and critical care services across two District General Hospitals at Eastbourne and Hastings. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Anaesthetic colleague to join a collaborative, motivated and supportive department.

This is a 10.75 PA (programmed activities) job plan for a Consultant Anaesthetist with an interest in Major Abdominal Surgery based at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
A theatre session or all-day operating list is between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs and equates to 2.5 PAs. A single (AM or PM) session is 1.25 PA.
The morning session following a non-resident 1 st on call (i.e. overnight) is non-clinical during weekdays to ensure adequate rest. On-call is 1.75 PA on average (see below for pattern)
