JOB DESCRIPTION – CONSULTANT & TRAINER – FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY

Scope of Work: Food Safety & Quality Management Systems
Responsibilities:
Sr. No Key Areas Description / Details Responsibilities / Job Description
1. Food Safety Consultancy Audit, Consultative Services, Documentation Review - Conduct Food Safety & Quality management audits and provide consultative services. - Review and assess documentation related to Food Safety & Quality Management Systems. - Interpretation of laboratory test results (when required).
2. Project Management Project Execution, Compliance, Communication - Act as Project Manager ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and timeframes. - Execute projects according to legal, corporate, and customer requirements while adhering to best practices. - Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and line managers for effective project implementation.
3. Client Relations & Services Payment Collection, Documentation, Customer Communication - Facilitate project payment collection in accordance with contracts. - Maintain project documentation and establish a database for reference. - Ensure smooth communication with clients regarding findings, recommendations, and additional requirements. - Coordination and managing laboratories and sub-contractors, when required.
4. Training & Development Training Delivery, Material Development - Deliver Food Safety & Quality management training in line with Diversey Consulting protocols. - Develop and customize training materials for specific Food Safety sectors, suggest enhancements to existing materials.
5. Business Development Customer Identification, Marketing, Meetings - Identify potential Food Safety clients and new business opportunities. - Arrange meetings with potential clients, cross-sell services, contribute to marketing material development.
6. Compliance & Ethics Adherence to Procedures, Reporting, Ethical Conduct - Adhere to working schedules and instructions provided by the company. - Report incidents or concerns promptly to the line manager. - Uphold Diversey’s Code of Ethics and Conduct at all times. - In case of tight scheduling, flexible to work on weekends, when required.

Authorities:

  • Take over responsibilities of the line manager in their absence.
  • Make decisions in coordination with the Administrator for quotes and customer-related matters when necessary.
  • Exercise full authority in making technical decisions during project or service delivery.
  • Report any unethical conduct within the department to the line manager or top management when required.

This reorganization emphasizes the critical aspects related to Food Safety & Quality Management Systems and the consultant and auditor’s responsibilities within Diversey Consulting.

BASIC COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSULTANT & TRAINER – DIVERSEY CONSULTING – UAE

Basic Qualification Academics: B. Sc / M. Sc – Food Engineering / Food Science / Food Technology / Microbiology / other related fields
Vocational qualifications: Lead Auditor status / Lead Auditor training in Food Safety Management System, Quality Management System, (any other qualifications highly desirable) Approved Tutor - HABC/CIEH/Dubai Municipality: Level 4 Food Safety; Level 3 HACCP, PIC training.
Work Experience: Minimum 7 working years in food industry / related industry Out of which at least two years are in hard core detail oriented internal auditing of formal systems like HACCP, ISO 22000, etc. / consulting on the above systems
Training undertaken on specific topics stated above including others like Total Quality Management, NEBOSH, etc. desirable. Training to be conducted on the above including technical trainings, auditing and implementation courses. Ability to design and develop training modules is a pre-requisite.
Technical skills: High degree of technical capability, analytical skills, subject knowledge, application orientation, documentation skills, market / business knowledge, etc.
Languages: English / Hindi / Urdu (Malayalam will be optional to meet customer needs)
Soft skills: Communication skills for training / technical content writing, practical, versatile / flexible, marketing and business development, supplier management, reasonable PR / networking skills, etc.
Work base: UAE – Mainly Dubai and Abu Dhabi, less frequently other Emirates. Office based in Dubai (must be willing to travel outside UAE, when required).
