Description:

The ENT Department at Leighton Hospital is looking to appoint a Consultant in ENT with a specialist interest in Facial Plastic Surgery alongside a General ENT workload to meet the needs of the service. This is a new substantive post and is expected to provide a general workload in addition to a subspecialist workload which will be agreed with the successful candidate.
The ENT service has been experiencing a period of growth and development and has seen an increase in referrals. The post is required to support the service in increasing our capacity and footprint within the local area, and to support the department in continuing to provide high quality care to the local population.
The department provides diagnostic services for Head and Neck Cancer patients with strong links to Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool and The Christie in Manchester as tertiary treatment centres.
The proposed AAC date is 13.11.2024.
The successful candidate will be based at Leighton Hospital, Crewe in the ENT Department, Surgery and Cancer Division. Out-patient activity may also be provided at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich. Out of hours cover is provided locally during the week but at the weekend, acute admissions are transferred to the Royal Stoke Hospital (University Hospital of North Midlands, UHNM). The middle grade rota is shared with UHNM both during the week and at the weekend. The Consultant rota is only shared with UHNM at the weekend.

The Trust provides high quality planned and emergency care, cardiac, critical care, child health, maternity services and intermediate care at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.
The Trust provides over 500 beds and employs over 5,100 members of staff. A comprehensive range of community services is provided across 26 medical centres and schools through our Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership.

At Mid Cheshire, our mission is to inspire hope and provide unparalleled care for the people and communities of Cheshire, helping them to enjoy life to the fullest.
We welcome all applicants and assess all job applications based on knowledge, skills and experience needed for the post.

The post is offered at 10 PAs but under the terms of the 2003 Consultant Contract, candidates who wish to conduct private practice would be required to offer an additional programmed activity.
Direct Clinical Care (DCC)

Supporting Professional Activities (SPA)
