Description:
As a Consultant within transactions and strategy advisory at Xynteo, you will play a pivotal role in driving impactful projects that enable global leaders and businesses to transition towards sustainable growth. You will contribute to designing and delivering transformative programs, collaborating with high-calibre colleagues to tackle critical challenges such as energy transition, decarbonization, and sustainable innovation and continue to drive our strong relationships with our global client base.
You will help us build Xynteo, our knowledge and our methods. You will contribute to the development of our teams to further help our clients create value and increase their impact. This is a key role in our organisation that requires strong business acumen, research skills, a quantative analytical toolkit, strong project delivery experience within teams dedicated to solving complex challenges. Experience from working with multinational companies, strategy consulting, or investors within transactions and strategy development would also be advantageous.
Working closely with Principal Consultants and the leadership team, you will help execute projects across diverse sectors, including financial institutions, energy companies, governments, and major industrial players. Projects will focus on critical areas like:
- Assessment of investments and opportunities in low carbon technologies and decarbonization, including (but not limited to) hydrogen & derivatives, renewables, batteries and storage, e-mobility, low carbon fuels and feedstocks, carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS), circularity & recycling, etc…
- Energy transition strategies and decarbonisation initiatives
- Emissions management, and development of new low-carbon energy markets
In this role, you will:
- Research, synthesise, and analyse complex environmental, social, and commercial challenges
- Build and run analytical models to deliver insights, leveraging tools such as Excel, Python, or other programming languages
- Facilitate client and industry interviews to extract key takeaways and contribute to client meetings by presenting data-driven recommendations
- Develop thought leadership materials to showcase insights and advance our partners’ objectives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver tailored solutions, working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
This role would be based in London, though some travel nationally and internationally is expected, with a minimum of 2-3 days a week in office or on client site.

We are seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial professionals excited by working in a small but rapidly growing organisation, and passionate about driving systemic change. The ideal candidate will have and a strong track record in management consulting, deal advisory, corporate strategy, or sustainability-focused roles within relevant industries. Ideal experience and proven skills track record includes:
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in industry, consulting, or finance environments, with previous exposure to and knowledge of energy transition and sustainability
- A bachelor’s degree with a focus on one of engineering, economics or finance preferred. A postgraduate degree in finance, economics, business or sustainability is a plus
- Strong quantitative analytical skills with a proven ability to analyse and synthesize large data sets into meaningful insights to inform strategic recommendations.
- Exposure to building and running analytical models using excel, python, and/or other programming languages
- A high degree of intellectual curiosity with a problem-solving mentality
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills to present insights effectively to clients and stakeholders in written and spoken English (knowledge of other languages a plus)
- A high degree of exposure to and existing understanding of kinds of sustainability challenges that businesses are currently facing.
- Subject matter expertise in energy transition and sustainability directly applied in a commercial setting
- Natural curiosity, empathy, and humility, with the ability to collaborate well in a team, and show openness to feedback
