Description:

The North London Forensic Service have an exciting position available for an enthusiastic and motivated consultant forensic psychiatrist to join the multidisciplinary teams on Severn Ward and Avesbury House within the low secure rehabilitation pathway.
The successful applicant will join a team the wider group of consultant forensic psychiatrists within the North London Forensic Service, a large and successful forensic psychiatric service in north London with its secure care services being deemed Outstanding by the CQC. The successful applicant will join the existing substantive responsible clinicians to have a caseload for half of the Severn Ward and Avesbury House, both within the low secure rehabilitation pathway. Each of these wards promote positive recovery, the management of risk and risk reduction, and a proactive drive toward more independent living to increase independence.
The successful applicant will have responsibility for providing consultant leadership to this well organised team in the delivery of high-quality patient care to service users.
The post holder will find themselves well supported, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and collaborative working within the North London Forensic Service, The North London Forensic Collaborative, and The North London Mental Health Partnership.

To provide clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care to service users in Severn Ward and Avesbury House.
To provide assessments, treatments, and interventions as part of Severn Ward and Avesbury House.
To provide holistic care considering the complex health and social care needs of the Service user.
To provide clinical and professional leadership within the post and take part in management activities and governance processes related to the post or the wider service within which it is embedded.
As a senior clinician, to have an integral role in the performance of Severn Ward and Avesbury House., further development of the service, and the development of the clinical pathways and priorities of the service line.
To provide psychiatric assessment and treatment of forensic psychiatric inpatients.
To take on the role of Responsible Clinician for detained patients.
To produce reports for CQC Tribunals, Hospital Managers hearings and Criminal Justice System where required.
To take the lead on prescribing and risk assessments.
