Job overview
The post holder will work on the ward supporting the busy RIU team and will also be attending outpatients’ clinic and endoscopy.
Flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the service. Duties will include responsibility for in-patient ward rounds out-patient clinics and endoscopy lists.

Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre.

The appointee will be part of the acute gastroenterology on-call rota (out of hours support to the on call endoscopy registrar, plus ward rounds at weekends and review of unwell current inpatients with gastroenterological conditions). The appointee will also be required to cover two weekends a year on the general medical on-call rota.

A rotating responsibility with Drs Gabe and Holman to cover the IRU, outlier patients, general gastroenterology clinic and nutrition clinic
2 endoscopy sessions
an on-call commitment for gastroenterology (incorporating GI bleeding)
a minimal commitment to on-call or general medicine
There is a requirement for a commitment to post graduate and undergraduate teaching and the appointee will be encouraged to carry out research.
