Description:

Our Labour Ward comprises 10 well sized delivery rooms with private en-suite bathrooms, 2 smaller rooms for antenatal / post natal patients and 1 x 2 bedded Acute Observation Unit patients requiring high intensity monitoring. A project is on-going to convert this into an Obstetric High Dependency Unit. We are proud of our Level 3 Bliss accredited Neonatal unit, who accept national referrals for babies from 22 weeks and 6 days. The Neonatal unit has 14 intensive care cots, 19 dependency / special care cots and one intensive care isolation cot.
They provide some of the most complex and pioneering medical care, including total body cooling, HFOV, NO therapy and laser ROP. Total Hours 40 Total PAs 10 (Supporting professional activities = 2);Direct clinical Care (including unpredictable on-call = 8) On-call rota 1 in 7; on call supplement 5% agreed category A. The post is available immediately, however an appointee may need to give three months to their current employer. In such circumstances, the appointee will be expected to take up the post within three months of the offer of the appointment, unless a special agreement has been made between the appointee and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.
