Description:
Respiratory MedicineClinical activities will include assessing patients attending acute services, managing inpatients, conducting outpatient clinics, undertaking investigations such as bronchoscopy and supervising junior doctors.The PA allocation for respiratory work will be 3.75PA (inc 0.75 SPA) Critical CareThe Critical Care component will also be split across both our sites with a slightly higher proportion of time spent supporting the Critical Care unit in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The on call component of this will all be in support of the Critical care on call, this is on a 1 in 8 basis. The PA allocation for critical care work will be 6.25PA (inc 0.75 SPA) The daily work pattern will be undertaking a minimum of twice daily ward rounds, the assessment and admission of appropriate patient from all areas of the hospital including ED, AMU, theatres and wards. In addition, the role is expected to support junior residents, ACCPs and Advance trainees working on the Critical Care units.
You will be encouraged to attend a number of MDT meetings that include weekly radiology and rehab meetings along with alternate monthly M+M and business meetings. The successful applicant will be encouraged to further develop the already excellent working relationships with our Respiratory colleagues and also take a lead on updating and maintaining the Critical Care teams knowledge and expertise on respiratory based pathologies in our critically unwell patients. An interest in developing policies and protocols for management of conditions such as Severe Adult Respiratory Failure would be of benefit
