We are looking to employ a Secondary Care General Physicians to work within, support and further develop the Rapid Investigation Service (RIS). We envisage that this post will deliver 1PA to the service which will allow adequate cross-cover and will be embedded in a team with GPs and Senior Clinical Nurse to deliver the service.
You will be a generalist consultant with the right skill set to enable the Rapid Investigation Service non-specific symptoms pathway to provide a comprehensive service to its patient cohort who will be presenting with non-specific symptoms which are suspicious of cancer.
The service is hosted by University Hospital Southampton (UHS) and is currently based at Aldermoor Surgery in Southampton.
A lot of the work can be delivered virtually, but there is an expectation that there will be a physical base for meetings and future planning.

- Ideally a General Physician/Elderly Care Clinician who is looking for a new challenge and would like to work as part of a region-wide service .
- Ability to work part of a Multidisciplinary team.
- An extensive and in-depth knowledge of working in the NHS.

Responsibilities:
- On a day-to-day basis you will be engaging directly with clinical, medical and nursing teams in the management of patents, providing specialist advice, skills leadership, collaboration and consultancy.
- Undertake review and management of patients under the responsibility of the RIS.
- Work closely with primary care colleagues, including the Hub GP, and other disciplines including the RIS Lead Nurse
