Description:

Job Title: Consultant in Rheumatology
Location: Derby

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide expert diagnosis, management, and treatment for patients with rheumatological conditions (e.g., arthritis, lupus, vasculitis).
  • Clinic and Ward Work: Lead outpatient clinics, manage inpatient consultations, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Specialist Clinics: Develop and lead specialist clinics (e.g., biologics, autoimmune diseases, musculoskeletal disorders).
  • Patient Education: Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies.
  • Teaching & Supervision: Supervise and train junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Research & Audit: Participate in clinical research, audits, and continuous professional development to enhance patient care and treatment protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Essential:
  • Completion of specialist training in Rheumatology
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Rheumatology or equivalent
  • Desirable:
  • Experience in advanced musculoskeletal imaging or biologic therapy
  • Research experience and involvement in quality improvement initiatives

Pay: £58,178.00-£94,463.00 per month
