Description:
Job Title: Consultant in Rheumatology
Location: Derby
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide expert diagnosis, management, and treatment for patients with rheumatological conditions (e.g., arthritis, lupus, vasculitis).
- Clinic and Ward Work: Lead outpatient clinics, manage inpatient consultations, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Specialist Clinics: Develop and lead specialist clinics (e.g., biologics, autoimmune diseases, musculoskeletal disorders).
- Patient Education: Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies.
- Teaching & Supervision: Supervise and train junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Research & Audit: Participate in clinical research, audits, and continuous professional development to enhance patient care and treatment protocols.
Qualifications:
- Essential:
- Completion of specialist training in Rheumatology
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
- CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Rheumatology or equivalent
- Desirable:
- Experience in advanced musculoskeletal imaging or biologic therapy
- Research experience and involvement in quality improvement initiatives
