You will own and manage key elements of client relationships and with an appropriate level of support, be expected to proactively identify innovative solutions for your clients and pursue new business development opportunities by utilising your networks and market knowledge.
You will be a confident team player and enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise with others, as well as continuing to build your own technical expertise or specialism. We take pride in working with everyone in the team to create broad mobility professionals who are well-equipped to partner with our clients. You’ll be empowered to manage your own workload and team to achieve career goals that you set yourself.
Responsibilities include:

- Managing relationships on client engagements.
- Collaborating with senior team members to deliver high-quality tax advice and services to clients.
- Getting involved in wider advisory projects and client meetings.
- Managing a portfolio of personal income tax returns– ensuring the tax returns move through the process from initial preparation to sign-off. This includes overseeing support from and collaborating with colleagues in our compliance delivery centres.
- The preparation of non-standard tax returns and client deliverables, as well as reviewing work of junior members of the team.
- Conducting entry and exit consultations with mobile employees.
- Contributing to the development of junior team members through mentorship and guidance.
- Working with colleagues across service lines (e.g. Reward and Incentives, Shares, High Net Wealth, Social Security, Immigration, Corporate Tax etc.) to deliver broader Global Workforce and Talent Mobility projects to clients.

CONNECT TO YOUR SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
You’re a natural at taking initiative. Someone who brings out the best in others and is a brilliant listener. You’ll grow our business without compromising standards, integrity or culture. We’re all about letting our leaders lead, so we’ll give you the breathing space you need to do so.
You will work with a wider team across a portfolio of clients, so working as a team and leading others will be a core part of your role. You will seek to bring the best out in all you work with, empowering them and leading the way as you deliver for your clients.
Growing the business will be a key part of your role – so you will be comfortable leading meetings with clients and exploring opportunities for the wider Deloitte firm.
Managing compliance obligations for your clients will be the core part of your role, and you will be comfortable working with delivery model solutions and international teams to deliver on this. You will be driven by deadlines and understand the importance of setting and meeting clear expectations.
Your Skills and Experience
You will be:
- Client focused and passionate about client relationships.
- Proactive in seeing work through to conclusion.
- Someone who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team.
- ATT qualified or equivalent, or close to completion (support for CTA completion with Deloitte will be considered for candidates who wish to pursue further professional exams).
- Inquisitive about exploring the impact of technology on both internal service delivery and client services.
You will have:
- UK tax-return preparation/reviewer experience.
- A good understanding of key relevant tax legislation, including the Statutory Residence Test and operation of double tax treaties.
- Broad knowledge of typical UK employer compliance responsibilities.
- The ability to communicate clearly and build strong relationships, both within internal teams and clients.
- Begun to work in a client advisory capacity beyond core compliance delivery.
- Experience of briefing clients/stakeholders on the implications of working internationally.
- Worked within a Professional Service environment or in-house team either within an expatriate role or private client focus.
- Existing experience of working alongside and managing non-UK based team members would be desirable.
