Description:

This is a full time (10 programmed activities) post based at the Royal Free NHS London Foundation Trust ’ s Plastic Surgery department. The Plastic Surgery department at the Royal Free Hospital is a busy and dynamic unit that provides care both for the local population in North Central London, and to a much larger network around the rest of North London in addition to the home counties.
The department has a strong reputation for provision of care for patients in breast reconstruction, skin malignancy, hand surgery, facial palsy, sarcoma reconstruction, ear reconstruction and abdominal wall reconstruction. The unit offers support to a wide variety of specialties both within the Royal Free and across our wider network. The unit has strong academic links and a large well-established MSc program.
This post will focus on delivering patient-centred care across the Royal Free Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, Mount Vernon Hospital and the Whittington Hospital. The workload includes general plastic surgery including skin cancer and close working with the dermatology service and a role in waiting list reduction including breast reconstruction and microsurgery. There is an on-call commitment with this post.
The postholder will undertake Plastic Surgery clinics and provide care for
patients with a wide range of plastic surgical conditions. The post will involve a specialist interest in breast surgery, skin cancer, and microsurgery. A higher degree would be an advantage as the department builds on its research base.
The nature of central and peripheral network commitments will be subject to review and modification as the service develops and evolves and a flexible approach to job planning is essential.
The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s biggest and most innovative trusts. Across three main hospitals, our dedicated army of staff care for over 1.6million patients, treat more than 200,000 in A&E, deliver over 8,000 babies and carry out more than 17million tests.
Our size, scale and influence offer you unrivalled career opportunities and a forward-thinking approach to working that works around your lifestyle. From flexible hours and generous benefits, to next level training, we make it easier to take your career to the top
