The Ministry of Social Services, Housing Division, has a challenging opportunity for a professional, collaborative and self-directed individual who has excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills for the position of Consultant, Program and Design Policy.
Reporting to the Director of Program Design and Operational Policy, this position is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and analysis of economic and demographic trends to develop programs, operational policies and standards for the housing program area. The individual will lead a variety of initiatives related to program-specific policies and objectives, evaluate the impact of policies on clients, and identify and assess issues in order to develop strategies, policies and service responses that improve client outcomes and/or build sustainable capacity in the housing delivery system.
This position will be located in Regina and will collaborate with other parts of the Housing Division and the Ministry of Social Services to best address the challenges of promoting self-sufficiency in housing for low-to-moderate income Saskatchewan households.
The successful candidate must have experience and demonstrated abilities to conduct data-based research and statistical analysis; manage projects; develop policy and program recommendations; develop concise and clearly understandable written materials; and present complex or technical information to diverse audiences including the public, front-line staff, program managers and executive management. You should have an understanding of housing and other social policy issues. Working within a team environment, you will be an excellent communicator with the demonstrated ability to lead projects that involve multiple stakeholders with varying interests.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a graduate degree in a social science, public administration or a related discipline, and/or several years related work experience.
