If you are successful, you will receive an initial recruitment payment of £1,500 on commencement in post, in addition to your salaried pay.
If you stay in this role for 12 months, you will receive another payment of £1,500, and a final payment of £1,500 if you are still with us after 24 months. Terms and conditions apply.
The position of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for Urgent Support Team. This is a trust wide post based at Chester.
The Urgent Support Team has been developed to provide children, young people in crisis with urgent mental health support. This is a developing team which provides includes risk assessments, urgent reviews, consultation and training.
Full-time and part-time applications (as part of a job share arrangement) will be considered.
The consultant will participate in the Trust wide CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist on-call rota.
Clinical Duties
The post holder will clinically leading the service and provide consultation and support throughout the day for patients seen by the teams (also chairs daily clinical huddles). They will also undertake emergency psychiatric assessments (both in Emergency Department and the ward) for complex cases, offering same day and next day assessments where indicated and planned assessments for high risk/complex patients who have been assessed by the team. ( approx. 8-10 new cases/week). They will maintains clinical responsibility for high risk/medicated patients until they are picked up by tier 3. They would work alongside the community consultant for yp open to camhs- home treatment element. They would also be Responsible clinician for the CYP admitted to general hospital under MHA with cover arrangements from place based CAMHS consultants.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.
New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
