Consultant Psychiatrist - Inpatients (Morris Ward)

Inpatient care for service users is provided by Consultants working within the Acute Care teams at Broadoak Unit as well as Clock View Hospital, Windsor House( all Liverpool based) and Hartley Hospital (Southport based). Clock View Hospital is an adult mental health facility based in Walton, Liverpool opened in 2015. There are 3 acute adult wards namely: Alt (mixed ward), Dee (female), and Morris (male). Clock view also houses Newton ward which is a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and an old age ward, Irwell.
The post is due to be vacant due to the reconfiguration of the medical model for the general adult wards at Clock View Hospital. Currently there are 3 Consultants covering the 4 adult wards. The proposed model is 1 Consultant covering 1 ward. There will be 4 general adult consultants, covering the 4 adult wards including PICU.
There will be a minimum of 2 middle grade doctors, and 6-8 junior doctors working alongside the 4 general adult consultants. There will be 0.5 WTE ST/SAS trainee allocated to Morris ward, and a minimum of 1 junior trainee. The post holder would be responsible for 17 patients on Morris ward. On average there are approximately 3 admissions per week to Morris in total with around 3 discharges.
