Our vision is to deliver excellence through innovative specialist acute inpatient mental health services and an outreach team.
As part of the NHSE SW and the region’s wider transformation, we aim to support individuals to live their best lives in their local communities.
We are looking for an outstanding individual who embodies the following key principles:
State of the Art: As a forward-thinking organisation, we embrace cutting-edge practices and evidence-based interventions. We strive to stay at the forefront of advancements in our care.
Care Closer to Home: We recognize the importance of community-based care. Our goal is to provide services that allow individuals to receive treatment and support within their chosen communities
Nature-Based Practice: Our approach integrates the healing power of nature into our care. We believe that connecting with the natural environment enhances well-being and promotes recovery
The successful candidate will combine direct patient care with clinical leadership for our coproduced designed unit, which will begin accepting admissions in autumn 2025.
- Until then, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and delivery of our clinical model.
- You will be supported by a skilled, multidisciplinary team, working together to create a center of excellence.
- The Consultant will deliver direct interventions to service users at a level of intensity according to their need. This will include the provision of psychiatric assessments, diagnostic formulation and the establishment of a treatment plan to address their mental and (if appropriate) physical health needs.
- The Consultant will also work collaboratively with the unit’s extensive multi-disciplinary team, engaging in both formal and ad hoc meetings relating to patient care and the efficient running of the unit.
- The consultant will collaborate with colleagues within the trust, as well as colleagues in primary care, secondary care, third sector, and social care wherever this would be required.
- Outreach Service - Consultant support will be provided by the individual’s existing Consultant Psychiatrist or Multi Professional Approved Clinician; Consultant to Consultant support may be required
- The Consultant will share the Responsible Clinician role for the unit’s inpatients with the unit’s MPAC.
- The Consultant will also have clinical supervisory roles, as outlined in the Job Description
