QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

We want to hear from candidates who are motivated to learn and are not afraid to ask questions. We’re looking for creative problem solvers with:

  • Strong time and priority management skills and an ability to juggle multiple client accounts
  • An ability to communicate information effectively and accurately, verbally or in writing across multiple disciplines
  • A strong work ethic and an ability to be a self-starter
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to also work independently, take initiative and set priorities
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel and WordExperience in social and digital media is a plus
  • Strong academic performance, with a bachelor’s degree in business, law, politics, communications, or a related field.
  • Up to 2 years of work experience in a corporate or political environment

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Consultant in our Strategic Communications segment, you will take an active role in the day-to-day running of client accounts and supporting client teams to deliver high quality outcomes.
We provide our clients with a suite of services, including financial communications, crisis and corporate reputation, transaction communications and public affairs in all the major markets around the world.
In Australia, our teams in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth work on complex and high-profile communications assignments across many different sectors, for clients that are facing difficult and contentious issues that impact their licence to operate.
We advise Boards and governing councils of private and public companies, industry associations and not-for-profit organisations on strategies to strengthen and improve communications outcomes with stakeholders ranging from employees, to the media, to government ministers. We are trusted advisors to high profile business and community leaders at critical times in their careers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Your responsibilities will involve:

  • Delivering high-quality work within project teams under minimal supervision
  • Undertaking communications activities for a number of different clients, across different teams and specialities
  • Actively contribute to both internal and client meetings by offering strategic and creative insights
  • Assisting senior team members in developing new business initiatives (e.g. conducting research on prospects, creating PowerPoint presentations and proposals, etc.)
  • Staying abreast of client issues and related industry trends, participate in industry networking events and informing team leaders of potential new business opportunities
  • Demonstrating a high level of integrity and asking the necessary questions to manage firm and client data responsiblyUnderstanding FTI’s values, Code of Ethics and the Strategic Communications Rules of Practice and demonstrating a strong commitment to applying these concepts in daily interactions with colleagues and clients.
