Established in 1908, we are the National Centre of Excellence in Orthopaedic Medicine, with over 500 highly skilled staff, including 37 Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons. Each year, we treat more than 26,000 adult and paediatric patients expeditiously and efficiently.

- Cappagh Kids: Limb Reconstruction, Hip Conditions, Scoliosis, Neuro Disability
- The Bone Tumour Centre (The Primary Referral Centre for Bone and Soft Tissue Tumours, Surgical Oncology Centre for the National Sarcoma Service)

NOHC is a teaching Hospital setting the highest standards in surgical, medical, nursing and allied healthcare education. We foster a culture of curiosity, leading and participating in translational research and innovation programmes for improved outcomes and quality of life.
Ranking first of 40 public hospitals for Overall Patient Experience (HIQA National Inpatient Experience Survey 2021 and 2022), NOHC is proactively seeking support and funding for ambitious expansion plans to increase capacity at the Hospital. We believe our bid to improve infrastructure and services will reduce national waiting lists, alleviate pressures on the acute hospital system, and help the HSE’s response to the increased demands of a growing and ageing population.
