We are expanding our team and looking for a Consultants and Senior Consultants to join the Climate Change and Sustainability Services team to be based in Canberra.
The EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services team is the biggest sustainability consulting team in Oceania. Our multidisciplinary teams help government and companies understand the risks and opportunities arising from climate change and sustainability issues to help them drive performance and transparency.
Our team works across the full spectrum of sustainability and climate change issues, including environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) strategy, outcomes measurement, climate risk and decarbonisation, economics, policy and regulation through advisory and assurance engagements.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go. We are looking for a Consultant and Senior Consultant with a passion for sustainability and ideally:
- Tertiary qualification, such as in science, agricultural science, economics or accounting
- Particular interest in agriculture, water and regional development desired
- 1-3 years experience in climate change services (either in professional services, industry or government), government policy or regulation
- Comfort and interest working with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently across multiple engagements with overlapping deadlines
- Agility to learn and adapt on the job, ask the right questions and strive for the best solutions for clients
- Knowledge of climate change and sustainability regulations, policies, international frameworks
- An interest in sustainability

Responsibilities:
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of industries with a particular focus on agriculture, water and regional development, assisting organisations on how they manage and report on a broad range of sustainability and climate related risks and impacts. This work may include:
- Contribute to strategy, solutions, methodologies, analytical frameworks and tools to support government policy or regulatory advisory engagements relating to decarbonisation and sustainability strategies
- Developing financial, economic or emissions models to analyse complex projects
- Developing and applying frameworks and methods for assessing, economic and financial impact or examining policy options and regulatory impacts and/or advising on regulatory compliance issues
- Developing clear, well written and easy to understand reports and presentations based on your analysis to assist our clients in understanding complex problems
- Contributing to assignments by ensuring that work products and services are client focused, clear, accurate and well presented.
- Assisting clients to develop and implement sustainability strategies, develop targets, and implement plans to enhance sustainability value for a broad range of sustainability topics, including diversity, waste, modern slavery and environmental impacts
