Description:
SUMMARY
- Serves as the point person for credit requests while prioritizing and monitoring workflow, and assisting Loan Officers with complex applications. At the direction of the Chief Credit Officer and Underwriting Manager, completes specialized quality control credit risk reviews and policy exception sign-offs. Provides in-depth analysis of both automated and manual credit decisions, including models and makes recommendations to credit policy and procedure. Supports Indirect Lending channels by analyzing volume, performance and risk trends and provides updates to Management on vendor results.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree and eight years consumer lending experience (including unsecured, auto, and home equity),including loan approval authority, and experience analyzing financial statements, or equivalent experience.
- In-depth knowledge of consumer loan credit analysis

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzes and interprets internal and external business issues and recommends solutions and best practices.
- Conducts Quality Control reviews to ensure lending consistency for Direct and Indirect lending channels
- Provides in-depth analysis of credit decisions and makes recommendations to management on ways to manage risk and achieve loan growth goals.
- Monitors the Centralized Lending queue to ensure loan applications are processed within established SLA.
- Reviews and analyzes credit applications for credit worthiness and approves within lending authority $40,000/ $400,000.
- Handles complex credit requests and escalations.
- Provides guidance and training to loan officers and member facing originators.
- Communicates with internal departments to discuss the status of credit applications and the application/approval process and identifies issues and training opportunities.
- Conducts LOS UAT and Loan Pool analysis as needed.
- Represents Lending in meetings or committees
- Supports Management in internal audits and regulatory examinations.
- Completes department reports as needed.
- Keeps abreast of federal, state and local laws and regulations related to consumer credit.
- Is responsible for adhering to operational controls, including compliance with all required regulations and policies such as the TILA –RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule (TRID), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to ensure the safety and soundness of the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and its members.
