Pentalver’s strategically located off-dock facilities at Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway, along with our inland hub at Cannock, offer diverse container services such as road haulage, container storage, container maintenance repairs, refrigeration services and cargo handling. In addition to our terminal services, we sell new and used shipping and refrigerated containers, including bespoke modifications.
We are currently recruiting for Container Conversion Carpenter/Joiner/Finisher to join our Container Conversion team.
Successful candidate will be responsible for finishing, lining, carpentry and joinery installations within shipping containers to a high standard in line with customer requirements.
This is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday).

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform container conversions in line with customer specifications to a high standard, completing all relevant paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Completing relevant job cards as required.
  • Effective and appropriate use of tools/equipment in the correct manner.
  • Woodwork and Joinery using various different materials.
  • Lining and finishing using various different materials
  • Interpret engineering drawing.
  • Metal dressing to a high standard (grinding, sanding and polishing).
  • Take measurements/mark out, drill/cut materials to size

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working as a Carpenter / Joiner
  • Ability to independently read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Skilled in operating hand power tools and machines
  • Skilled in operating cutting equipment, as well measuring tools
  • Math and mechanical aptitude
  • Due to the nature of the nature of the business DYI, carpentry and forklift operating skills - desirable
  • A mature approach to H&S requirements
  • A strong team player
