Waste Control Services (WCS) is a private, locally owned and operated recycling and waste management company offering sustainable solutions for waste management. We provide collection services and consultation for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional clients throughout the Greater Vancouver region. Our head office and shop are located in Coquitlam, with two recycling yards in North Vancouver where we process materials collected from our customers. We are a reputable employer with over 30 years of experience in the industry.
As we continue to grow, we are in the process of building a new container maintenance yard, which will be a key part of our future operations.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking a Container Maintenance Lead Hand to supervise and manage our container maintenance team, while also overseeing the development of our new maintenance yard. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on experience in maintenance, and a proactive approach to ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the container maintenance team, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Oversee the allocation of repair tasks and inspect completed work to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Manage the construction and development of the new container maintenance yard, coordinating with contractors and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members, ensuring high-quality work and development of skills.
- Work with the container maintenance coordinator to handle repair requests, bin exchanges, placements, and removals.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and other maintenance activities.
- Assist with complex repairs and other duties as required.
