SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

  • Native German speaker, fluent in English.
  • 3+ years of relevant copywriting or content writing experience
  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates experience in creative storytelling and covers a variety of social/digital media and campaigns
  • An understanding of the principles of SEO and experience optimising your writing for search.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
  • An eye for a story, with a strong understanding of content marketing and how to concept and execute channel appropriate content.
  • Copywriting skills across a variety of writing genres
  • Experience in localisation (English to German )
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects at once

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced native German speaking marketing copywriter who can develop rich, compelling, localised copy that builds on our brand strategy and drives our marketing objectives. This role bridges copywriting, localisation and content marketing.
You will report directly to the Head of Content Marketing EU but work cross-functionally with our international marketing, product, customer experience, and operations teams. You’ll develop engaging copy for a variety of marketing and communications materials that range from UX copy to marketing copy for emails and social to ad campaigns.
You will work on a variety of copywriting projects, whether it be written by you or as editor of AI generated copy. You will need to manage multiple stakeholders and ensure that all copy is delivered to a high standard and on time, crafted to meet the MPB business objectives. You will also actively drive the local content experience for the German market, from concept to execution to publish. Therefore we are looking for someone with a wide range of copywriting experience in both short and longer form copy, who has a proven track record of self-managing tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as guardian of German language marketing copy at MPB.
  • Use research and insights to supplement your understanding of German audiences and their needs and use that to inform your decisions when crafting your communications.
  • Synthesise technical information and key messages into compelling copy for photography and videography audiences with diverse experience, backgrounds and interests
  • Produce and edit long and short form copy that is clear, informative, and engaging for diverse marketing materials. This will include blog articles, emails, social posts, scripts and subtitles for videos, display ads, product descriptions and pages, press releases, collateral for events and more.
  • Lead on localisations from English to German , both as translator or editor. Project manage your tasks as they come from across the business, ensuring timely delivery and appropriate stakeholder management.
  • Drive content projects for Germany. Support our content team with content planning, conduct research and interviews. Project manage as necessary, stewarding copy from the concept to final delivery.
