EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Advanced technical experience using digital media equipment, video creation, editing software, and/or digital media control software.
- Strong knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery and other production formats.
- Broad knowledge of all aspects of professional quality productions, including field and studio camera, lighting, sound and editing,
- Understanding of online video environment and online distribution.
- Demonstrated ability to perform repairs on a wide variety of audio, visual and computer equipment.
- Ability to adapt equipment setup and provide alternative setup or workarounds if necessary.
- Ability to manage a variety of simultaneous projects within tight deadlines, excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, mature judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- May require experience planning, coordinating, and executing archival digitization projects.
PREFERRED/DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong quantitative skills.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve with general guidance.
- Diplomatic skills, comfort in interacting with prominent individuals, and grace under pressure are essential.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and Internet search techniques.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE:
The Content Development Specialist will work on the preparation and production of educational and informational programming based on the work of Hoover Institution fellows. This role will be responsible for identifying research, developing educational materials, and collaborating with the marketing team to expand the reach of work by Hoover fellows.
Develop and execute digital media production assignments requiring fully developed skills and understanding of area of specialization. Partner with internal and external clients regarding content derived from the research of the Hoover fellowship.
Specifically, the Content Development Specialist will be responsible for generating content from the research of the Hoover fellowship with a focus on the Institution’s key focus areas and institutional priorities. The content development specialist will work with the team to identify, adapt, and create content that is informational and educational to increase the reach and visibility of institutional research
CORE DUTIES*:
- Identify, select, extract and summarize data and structured information. Present summary of findings to supervisor and/or the Marketing team.
- Partner with clients on strategic and creative approaches to projects involving abstract or technical content to meet objectives and within time and cost constraints: articulating the production process and expectations, communicating issues, providing status updates, and suggesting appropriate methods for improvement.
- Develop and market digital services to internal and external clients to create visual content, including video and images and provide best practice standards that foster photographic and video excellence.
- Manage all aspects of capturing, recording, and transmitting of all digital media productions, video and/or images
- Identify, select, extract and summarize data and structured information. Gather and organize data.
- Conduct literature searches, and write literature summaries and manuscripts, requiring preliminary judgments after the supervisor outlines conceptual approach:
- Research and draft potential “scripts” for videos based on the current research of Hoover fellows.
- Organize, write, and assist in assembling supplemental material for content.
- Adapt new, nonstandard methods outlined by supervisor in designing, evaluating, and editing materials such as: educational materials, questionnaires, quizzes, tests, infographics and other related material, which adhere to the communications and brand Vacancy Announcement Continued: Page 3 strategy for Hoover in a variety of channels (i.e. Hoover.org, Facebook, YouTube, and others).
- Assist with development, communication, and design of research findings to internal and external audiences, which may include web updates, social media, and/or white papers, for use in recruitment, educational, or awareness of programs, with guidance from supervisor.
- Assist with creating social media postings to promote videos.
- Analyze data and improve outreach efforts of Hoover marketing materials.
- May lead and train staff or supervise day-to-day work of student and/or temporary workers, including scheduling, assigning, and prioritizing workloads, setting
- appropriate deadlines, reviewing work for quality and timeliness, and providing performance review input.

- Institution in a variety of channels (i.e. Website, Facebook, YouTube, and others).
- Develop an understanding of the organization’s major programs, services, events and products
