Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Content Marketing Executive to play a key role in supervising and delivering Marlborough’s internal and external communications, based at our head office in Chelmsford, Essex. The Content Marketing Executive will report into the Head of Marketing and Communications and will join a small, friendly team.
This position involves overseeing content creation and distribution across multiple platforms, ensuring consistent messaging. The role will involve managing the content calendar, producing client reports, creating press releases and case studies, and coordinating award submissions. Additionally, the coordinator will be responsible for the production of Marlborough’s bi-annual magazine, monthly e-newsletters, and keeping the company website updated with the latest news.
Working closely with other departments, clients, and partners, this role requires a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills, a creative approach to content development, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage internal and external content calendar: oversee the planning and scheduling of content across multiple channels, ensuring timely updates of internal news via our internal news board and through email communications
  • Produce client reports throughout the year: create reports for clients, showcasing our activities, presenting them in a professional manner
  • Manage award entry deadlines and submissions: plan and manage deadlines for industry award submissions, ensuring all materials are written and submitted on time, collaborating with internal teams
  • Produce case studies: research, draft, and finalise case studies that highlight successful projects
  • Write and distribute press releases: write press releases to share company news and significant achievements, liaising with our clients where necessary and targeting appropriate audiences
  • Create our external bi-annual magazine and monthly e-newsletters: lead the content development and production of our bi-annual external magazine and monthly e-newsletters, collaborating with team members to generate ideas, draft articles, and oversee the design and distribution process
  • Keep Marlborough’s website up to date with the latest news: regularly update the company website with news stories, Contract awards, case studies and other relevant content. Ensure that the website remains up-to-date and a reflection of Marlborough’s activities and achievements
  • Produce monthly reports: contribute to the marketing team’s monthly report, tracking the performance of content and campaigns. Provide insights and recommendations to improve engagement and outcomes
  • Take part in ad hoc activities such as public engagement events, school visits, etc.: participate in and support ad hoc public-facing events such as community and school events
  • Joint marketing and communication campaigns: plan and execute joint collaborative campaigns, working closely with clients, suppliers and charity partners.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: ability to create clear, compelling content for a variety of audiences and platforms, with an eye for detail and strong proofreading skills
  • Content creation experience: proven experience in creating and managing content across different media, including websites, newsletters and press releases
  • Project management skills: strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working to deadlines and maintaining attention to detail
  • Digital literacy: proficiency with content management systems, email marketing tools, basic website management, and social media platforms
  • Adaptability and flexibility: desire to support ad hoc activities such as public engagement events, school visits, and other ad hoc tasks with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Experience in PR and media relations: experience in drafting press releases and working with media outlets
  • Experience with award submissions: familiarity with preparing award entries and managing submission deadlines
  • Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a similar role.Relevant certifications in content marketing, digital marketing, or communications (desirable but not essential).
