Content – Primary Literacy Teaching & Learning Resources

We are looking for an exceptional teacher/educator to join a talented writing team to create content for our growing suite of primary literacy products.

Key responsibilities for this role are:

• writing teaching content to match curriculum descriptors
• developing engaging student activities for literacy practice and assessment
• scoping and sequencing programs of work across all primary year levels to suit various curricula
• ensuring content meets practical classroom needs and incorporates sound pedagogy
• producing work according to set project milestones, under the supervision of the Head of Content
• collaborating with project teams to ensure the content suits the relevant formats
• updating and refining existing materials
• consulting as a literacy subject matter expert to support all departments including editorial, design, programming and marketing

You must have:

• a deep understanding of and passion for teaching literacy in a primary school setting, including systematic synthetic phonics
• primary classroom teaching experience
• working knowledge of the Australian Curriculum (state curriculums also desirable)
• excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
• enthusiasm for classroom teaching using a wide variety of formats

Experience in the following would be a bonus:

• curriculum planning leadership
• commercial content writing

The role is full-time and office-based at our beautiful Buderim location, nestled in the rainforest. It is a 12-month contract. Our office hours are 8:30 am–5:00 pm Monday to Thursday, as Firefly Education is currently participating in a 4-Day Work Week (4DWW) Trial.

Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $80,000.00 – $94,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
