EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in journalism, English, communications, marketing, or related discipline
- Some experience in digital marketing would be an asset
- Proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides
- Keen eye for detail and appreciation of great design
- Exceptional writing and research skills
- Experience with content management systems is an asset
- Experience with marketing and social media is an asset
CANDIDATE PROFILE & SKILLS:
- Ability to work independently or with a team to meet deadlines
- A positive attitude and passion for writing
- Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
- Familiarity with and/or passion for the tourism industry
Responsibilities:
- Interpret direction to create accurate and compelling copy.
- Research and understand the region’s extensive experiences and visitor services and creates content to properly reflect the offering.
- Write original copy and edit content for a range of marketing and communications materials.
- Present copy concepts and final deliverables to the internal team.
- Revise copy based on feedback.
- Prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Backend content optimizations; optimize/upgrade existing content relevant to strategy.
