Description:

Norse Atlantic Airways is an airline that offers affordable fares on long-haul flights, primarily between Europe and the United States. The company was founded by CEO and major shareholder Bjørn Tore Larsen in March 2021. Norse has a fleet of 15 modern, fuel-efficient and more environmentally friendly Boeing 787 Dreamliners that serve destinations including New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Miami, Cape Town, Bangkok, Oslo, Athens, London, Berlin, Rome and Paris. The company’s first flight took off from Oslo to New York on June 14, 2022.
The Continuing Airworthiness Engineer is responsible for carrying oversight out all CAMO tasks for the UK fleet and ensuring they are resolved satisfactorily and in accordance with compliance requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

3+ years Technical Education: · a relevant engineering degree or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification with additional education that is acceptable to the competent authority. ‘Relevant engineering degree’ means an engineering degree from aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionic, or other studies that are relevant to the maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness of aircraft/aircraft components.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices would be advantageous.
  • Continuing airworthiness management and/or Maintenance management experience would be advantageous.
  • Relevant knowledge, background and appropriate experience related to the activities of the organisation, including knowledge and experience in compliance monitoring would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out the day-to-day functions of the UK CAMO team, to include but not limited to:
    a. Updating manuals (as appropriate) and procedures. Making recommendations for change as appropriate.
    b. Overseeing harmonized manual updates, and Appendix II procedures for suitability and compliance with the UK CAME and procedures.
    c. Ensuring that relationships between contracted Part-145 and the subcontracted Part CAMO organisations are robust, effective, and positive.
    d. Carry out updates to the aircraft Airworthiness documentation and regulatory applications utilising defined procedures, to include but not limited to:
    i. CofA and ARC
    ii. Radio License
    iii. Insurance Certificate
    iv. ELT registration management
    v. Noise certification
    e. Review updates to the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) and monitor its effectiveness, ensuring the following, to include but not limited to:
    i. An annual review of the effectiveness of the AMP is conducted.
    ii. AMP meetings as per Section 5.1.2 of the CAME are carried out.
    f. Review the output of the Reliability Programme for suitability and ensure reliability data for systems and components is acceptable at the applicable reliability meetings.
    g. Monitor all Airworthiness Directives information from CAA, EASA, FAA, or other relevant authorities where applicable, ensuring they are evaluated by the Appendix II organisation as per defined procedures.
    h. Review recommendations for improvements and modifications to aircraft, and make sure that all applicable mandatory directives, issued by authorities and Type Certificate Holder, are incorporated in the aircraft, as appropriate. Ensuring that suitable instructions and maintenance documentation have been created for accomplishment and that procurement of material requirements have been initiated.
    i. Overseeing the activities of the Appendix II Part CAMO engineering functions.
    j. Work with the Procurement Team as deemed necessary.
    k. Carry out ARC Extensions of the UK fleet (as appropriate, based upon internal training, and UK CAA acceptance).
    l. Work collaboratively with our counterparts in Norway to ensure the business goals and pillars are met.
  2. Work closely with the safety team to ensure, to include but not limited to:
    a. Immediate action is taken should they become aware of any safety-related issues affecting the operation.
    b. Engage in relevant SAG’s to promote the Safety policy as identified in the MSM.
    c. Ensure that in the event of a safety or maintenance related incident taking place, the relevant reporting process has been initiated.
    d. Consideration of risks associated with contracted and sub-contracted activities and management thereof.
    e. Demonstrate an understanding of, and active participation in, the application of safety management, human factors principles and human performance issues.
  3. Work closely with the compliance team to ensure, to include but not limited to:
    a. Engage with compliance openly for audits.
    b. Establish and conduct the corrective actions listed in the section on non-conformities found during internal audits or deviation reports, ensuring the action of any NCR allocated to them in a timely manner and only seek to extend target closure dates when necessary.
  4. Work closely with the UK Regulatory Authority, to include but not limited to:
    a. Engage openly for audits.
    b. Seek clarification (as appropriate) and acceptance through discussion for future changes to ensure compliance is maintained.
