GENERAL SUMMARY
Provide ownership and station leadership of the Performance Improvement department. This position has direct responsibility for the Corrective Action Program, and Industrial Safety Program. It also maintains overall oversight and administration of the site Continuous Improvement Model elements.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least seven years of experience within the nuclear industry. Experience must include one of the following:
- 3 years supervisory/management experience and 3 years Corrective Action Program, Performance Improvement, Human Performance or Industrial Safety experience; OR
- 5 years supervisory/management experience; OR
- 7 years Corrective Action Program, Performance Improvement, Human Performance or Industrial Safety experience
An Associate degree and an additional nine years of related experience or, a high school diploma/GED and an additional eleven years of related experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.

Pay Range
$157,548.00 - $236,322.00 Annual
Midpoint:
$196,935.00
Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate’s qualifications.
Incentive Compensation
This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.

Responsibilities:
Manage the activities of the Performance Improvement Departments through the following:
- Create a Performance Improvement department vision that ties to the Energy Northwest’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
- Establishing policies and procedures for performance improvement programs.
- Prepares, makes recommendations to, and oversees development of the department operating budgets. Monitors spending for adherence to budgets. Plans, develops, and makes recommendations to address variances.
- Develop and implement a strategy for maximizing efficiency and decreasing costs of the department to meet the business plan objectives and achieve continuous improvement.
- Provide overall leadership to the Corrective Action, Self-Assessment and Operating Experience programs.
- Provide strategic leadership in the implementation of a company-wide initiative for improving industrial safety performance that includes methods to monitor, measure, and assess performance, tools, techniques, and training for injury prevention and injury case management.
- Provide strategic leadership in the implementation of company-wide Corrective Action program that includes methods to monitor, measure, and assess performance, tools, techniques, and training for identifying and resolving issues, including gaps to excellence.
- Provide professional development and coaching through the performance review process, disciplinary action process, observation process, and provide routine feedback to ensure the success of the leaders and staff within the Performance Improvement department.
- Make decisions about personnel regarding employment, performance expectations/reviews, promotions, salary changes, transfers, and terminations.
- Prepare performance objectives for subordinates and advise subordinates in the more complex phases of their work.
- Provide leadership, management direction, and consultation to ensure nuclear safety and regulatory issues are identified, addressed, and resolved to reduce the potential for negative impacts to public safety, personnel safety, and plant reliability. Set clear expectations, communicate, provide adequate resources and direction to establish requirements and programs that monitor and assess the effectiveness of the Performance Improvement Programs and ensure they are meeting regulatory requirements.
- Work with the Operations Support General Manager to develop and implement long-range programs to ensure the Corrective Action/Performance Improvement programs support Energy Northwest’s operational requirements.
- In cooperation with the VPs, PGM, and meeting sponsors and owners, coordinate alignment of the Phases of Excellence focus areas.
- Must participate on the Emergency Response team (ERO) when designated.
- Must support the biennial refueling outage
- Must provide support to the OCC and EOC
