JOB SUMMARY:
The Continuous Improvement Specialist leads process optimization initiatives across the organization, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency, reducing waste, and improving product quality. Utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies, this role drives projects that optimize business processes, increase productivity, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify improvement areas, implement solutions, and lead projects that enhance quality and reduce costs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher; Kaizen, TQM, or similar certifications preferred.
- 1-2 years in process improvement, project management, or operations management, with experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify inefficiencies.
- Experience with statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel) and process mapping.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and root cause analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse teams.
- Ability to lead projects and manage change effectively.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with SPC, PFMEA, and gauge measurement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and fostering a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and participate in continuous improvement workshops to solve specific process problems.
- Map current processes, conduct audits, and perform time studies to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
- Apply tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Use Lean tools (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kanban) and Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, FMEA, SPC) to improve efficiency and reduce defects.
- Lead continuous improvement projects from concept to implementation, tracking progress and ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Provide training and workshops on Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement practices to foster a culture of improvement.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for improved processes and ensure adherence across teams.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for process efficiency, quality, and cost savings.
- Work closely with departments to implement improvements and encourage problem-solving across teams.
- Advocate for continuous improvement by encouraging employee engagement and innovation in process enhancements.
