QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate-level degree (Master’s or PhD) in molecular biology, cell biology, immunology or closely related discipline.
  • Extensive relevant and practical laboratory experience.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience.
    Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
    Remuneration: Will commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
    Instructor salary grid $64,994.80 - $113,063.86 annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78,998.00 - $85,889.00 annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification – Instructor).
    This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in classroom and laboratory settings.
  • Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials.
  • Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
  • Evaluate the learning process and provide meaningful feedback to students
  • Respond to student issues
  • Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications, and program promotions
  • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students and colleagues
  • Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT’s Academic Model as identified by the institute
  • Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
  • Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
  • Other duties as assigned
