STRABAG is actively seeking a Contracts Administrator for our Canadian division where he/she can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization. The successful candidate will work at the main office of the Scarborough Subway Expansion Project in Scarborough.
Job Summary:
The Contract Administrator will manage the main contract and subcontracts by the Company policies and procedures. He/she will have a thorough understanding of contracting principles and construction law and have good experience in the field of contract management in construction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and issue subcontracting modifications including change orders, change directives and amendments
  • Review and finalize monthly payment certificates with client and subcontractors
  • Assist in preparation of claims and additional work requests; liaise with scheduler and cost controller
  • Coordination and preparation of all contractual correspondence and submittals
  • Prepare, review and administer contracts/subcontracts of varying types
  • Review policies and procedures to facilitate contract terms
  • Review of Prime Contract and assist other team members with compliance of specifications/requirements as stipulated
  • Maintain contractual correspondence within document management system
  • Assist in the measurement of works progress and preparation of reports
  • Participate in proposals and tenders for new projects
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned

QUALIFIKATIONEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent oral and written English skills essential
  • Commitment to ethical business conduct and trust with sensitive information
  • Good organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Knowledge of local construction laws and practices
  • Self-motivated, persistent, and flexible, team player

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in contract and/ or subcontract management/administration in the construction industry
  • Engineering background in Civil, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying required
  • Bachelor’s degree in either Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Law, or similar
  • Knowledge of standard Canadian construction law/regulations
