JOB SUMMARY
The Contracting Services Specialist facilitates and implements AHP’s fee schedules; researches and responds to inquiries from hospitals, physicians and staff on coding and fee schedule issues and makes decisions that are in compliance with AHP’s policy and procedures. The Contracting Services Specialist coordinates updating and maintaining provider contracts through interaction with legal counsel, credentialing staff and network services staff; provides staff training on contracting and fee schedule development; develops and maintains policies and work instructions for contracting and fee schedules; manages all aspects of delegate vendor relationships, assesses contracting strategies and reimbursement methodologies; generates reports on provider contract compliance with AHP and responds to requests for data reports from management, marketing, finance, network services and underwriting on network performance. The duties performed by the Contracting Services Specialist are critical to ensure the performance of the networks supporting AHP.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business, Medical Records, Health Information, or related field.
