Description:

Unite Private Networks (UPN) is searching for a dynamic and experienced Contract Counsel I to work in Kansas City, MO. This is an entry-level role.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This is an entry-level role. No prior professional experience is required.
  • Must either have a JD already or be graduating with a JD in December and taking the bar at the beginning of 2025.
  • Must reside in the Kansas City, MO area to be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA in Related Discipline
  • Additional training/certification in telecommunications, contracts, real property, and corporate transactions preferred
  • License to practice law (any state) preferred
  • 0-3 years’ experience in business transactions & contracts
  • Superior writing and oral communications skills.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Excellent computer skills with elevated levels of competency in all Microsoft applications and Adobe Professional; excellent Internet and research skills; ability to learn and be proficient in company-specific computer systems.
  • A strong sense of urgency; ability to prioritize and manage deadlines while juggling multiple customers and projects.
  • Efficiently gather information, problem solve, plan, and organize.
  • Can quickly learn all aspects of the business and be able to provide effective legal counsel based on that knowledge; ability to develop a thorough knowledge of the telecommunications industry, Segra’s services, and the laws that govern those services.
  • Devise logical approaches and make recommendations to address complex issues.
  • Recognize and treat with discretion confidential materials and documents.
  • Ability to work independently along with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with business colleagues; and
  • Sound judgment.

Responsibilities:

Provide business and legal support to Segra’s Enterprise Sales, Carrier Sales, and Operations teams with a focus on all types of contractual and other documents related to sales, vendor, and certain real property matters. This role will also manage certain pre-litigation disputes as may arise from time to time.
