WORK ARRANGEMENTS
The Mathematics Upgrading Department in the Faculty of Science & Technology at Douglas College is seeking sessional instructors to add to their Contract Faculty list. Instructional sections are available for Winter 2025 and Summer 2025 semesters.
The successful candidate(s) must be able to teach at either one of the two Douglas College Campuses, in New Westminster and Coquitlam.
Contracts are assigned each semester based on available sections.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters is preferred
- Teaching experience with ABE adult learners or similar
- Teaching credential require
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
The Mathematics Upgrading Department is seeking excellent mathematics instructors, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and support adult upgrading students with problems in learning mathematics. The successful candidate(s) will be able to teach courses at the fundamental, intermediate and advanced Adult Basic Education (ABE) levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES
You will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College courses. You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain quality learner-centered instruction.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
