As a Contract Faculty member, you will play a key role by promoting academic excellence, developing an effective learning environment, and designing, teaching, revising, and updating curriculum. Your previous working experiences will provide a broad range of practical knowledge to enhance the student learning experience. Contract Faculty may teach in teams or independently and develop/deliver curriculum in a variety of ways including face-to-face (lectures, seminars, labs) and online.

As a Contract Facilitator you will play a key role by promoting academic excellence, developing an effective learning environment, and designing, teaching, revising and updating curriculum. Your previous working experiences will provide a broad range of practical knowledge to enhance the student learning experience. Contract Facilitators may teach in teams or independently and develop/deliver curriculum in a variety of ways including face-to-face and online.
We are currently recruiting contract facilitators to be part of our teaching team to help support Continuing Education part-time or short-term course offerings and training solutions for employers.
As a facilitator in Continuing Education with the School of Trades and Technology, you will be teaching and guiding adult learners as they achieve specific outcomes. As a Continuing Education facilitator, you will be expected to contribute to support learner success and lead experiences within the specific discipline. Your passion for and experience in helping learners develop technical and applied skills will work to ensure that training participants are equipped for changing workplace needs.

Facilitators in Continuing Education play a pivotal role by:

  • providing academic leadership within teaching teams to ensure the consistent delivery of assigned courses;
  • designing, updating and teaching curriculum;
  • demonstrating teaching excellence through proven adaptability with diverse learners;
  • creating a learning environment that motivates and engages learners, using a variety of teaching methodologies and types of delivery, including lectures, labs, eLearning, and applied learning;
  • contributing to cross-College discussions about curriculum, to support our community integration initiatives, and
  • fostering our important connection to industry, across Peterborough and the Kawarthas, Northumberland County and beyond.

Your previous working experiences will provide a broad range of practical knowledge to enhance the student learning experience. Your demonstrated experience and proficiency teaching traditional, online and/or blended delivery-type Continuing Education courses, (including Learning Management Systems) would be an asset.

This position may be working fully or partially remote, and some projects may involve travel to off-site locations to provide training. All employees are periodically required on campus.
Food Safety and/or Food Service Facilitator: You possess a minimum of an Ontario College Diploma or undergraduate degree (food or nutrition-related education is preferred), five or more years’ minimum experience working in a food preparation-related work environment, and a current TrainCan (or equivalent) Food Safety Train the Trainer Certification. Recent experience as a Public Health Inspector would be a definite asset.
