The Temporary HR Manager will support Vibram USA International during the 6-month maternity leave of the Chief of Staff. This role will ensure the seamless continuation of HR operations across multiple locations, providing essential support in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and policy implementation. The successful candidate will foster a positive work environment, align HR strategies with business goals, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA or Portland, OR
SALARY RANGE: $42,500-$47,500 for 6-month contract
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Employee Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, resolving workplace conflicts and fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage recruitment activities, including job postings, interviews, and new employee onboarding to ensure a smooth hiring process during this critical period.
- Performance Management: Oversee employee performance evaluations, support managers in developing performance improvement plans, and ensure alignment with Vibram’s culture and goals.
- Policy Implementation and Compliance: Maintain HR policies and ensure they are clearly communicated and upheld. Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Leave and Benefits Management (in conjunction with HR Benefits Administrator): Administer employee leave, including overseeing paid time off, FMLA, and maternity leave. Ensure benefits are properly managed and communicated.
- Training and Development: Support ongoing employee development by assisting with training initiatives, coaching, and development opportunities during the Chief of Staff’s leave.
- HR Operations: Handle daily HR tasks, including updating personnel files, HRIS management, payroll coordination, and addressing any ad-hoc HR matters.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required between Vibram facilities in Portland, Los Angeles, Boulder, and Boston, depending on operational needs.
- Availability: Flexibility is required to address any HR-related issues that may arise during or outside of regular business hours.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in a multi-site, fast-paced environment.
- Experience in employee relations, compliance, and recruitment required.
