Description:
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Attorney/Lawyer in Union, New Jersey. The role primarily involves reviewing and redlining contracts for a tech company, specializing in software and software licensing. The successful candidate will be expected to deal with IP property issues and ownership issues, and occasionally negotiate with outside counsel.
Responsibilities:
- Review and redline buy and sell contracts in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
- Address and resolve issues related to intellectual property and ownership
- Conduct negotiations with outside counsel as necessary
- Use case management software to track and manage all legal cases
- Utilize legal software and LexisNexis for research and case preparation
- Handle complaint administration and documentation
- Oversee contract management and ensure all contracts comply with legal standards
- Utilize skills in civil litigation and briefing to represent the company in any legal disputes
- Collaborate with the management team to develop strategies and plans for the legal department.
- Must possess a Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school
- Current license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction
- Proven experience as an Attorney or Lawyer in a reputable law firm
- Proficiency in the use of legal software such as LexisNexis, 3M, and Case Management Software
- Expertise in civil litigation and claim administration
- Demonstrated experience in complaint handling and contract management
- Strong skills in briefing and documentation
- Familiarity with management systems and their application in legal contexts
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- High ethical standards and professional integrity
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
