Description:
Job Purpose: A Contract Management Specialist’s role is to review and analyse aircraft, engines and systems contracts and develop a project process to ensure that all respective Engineering business groups fully utilise their own areas of product support terms and commercial incentives in order to maximise benefits to Emirates, as well as manage a system for supplier performance and overall supplier management through rating metrics on various product support elements at both the corporate and operational level. The role also involves preparing in conjunction with EK Engineering respective business units, the required product support and contract management elements for various aircraft programs and ensure they match the latest industry support standards.
In this role, you will:
- Provide the relevant EK Engineering business units with a summary of available contractual product support terms and contractual incentives and ensure systems are in place to acquire related remedies. Post the contractual terms in a useful digital summary and update in the EK Groupworld intranet site for easy access to all EK Engineering users.
- Develop a system for monitoring and evaluating supplier performance by providing suitable rating metrics on various product support elements at both the corporate and operational levels, in order to adopt (with the respective suppliers), appropriate corrective action suitable to EK operations.
- Evaluate periodic supplier performance metrics and approach the respective supplier in order to agree a recovery plan and present supplier ratings to Procurement and Senior Management as negotiation leverage tool in the selection of aircraft and system equipment.
- Conduct a periodic Contractual Effectiveness Assessments of major Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE), to be used as contract recommendations for new projects and as an objective analytical negotiation tool for new contracts and contract amendments for future component selection evaluation programs.
- Review BFE program deficiencies/defects reported during aircraft First Article Inspection (FAI) in order to submit a contractual notification letter claim, provide timely solutions and where necessary recover liquidated damages from the vendor.
- Negotiate supplier contract compliance disputes and provide interpretations on contractual terms of aircraft major Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE), such as the Annual Contractual Price Adjustment and ensure adjustments and/or escalations are in line with the respective contracts
- Analyse all available Emirates aircraft, engine and system equipment purchase agreements and contracts and ensure that all available support terms are administered appropriately and that benefits are collected in a timely manner within the stipulated contractual grace periods.
- Assist the Manager Procurement, to continuously enhance existing product support elements and supplier performance management processes in accordance with the latest terms available in the industry, in order to reflect state of the art terms in new BFE contracts and eventually attain maximum remedies and benefits.
Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Honours (12 + 3 or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience in Engineering or Other.
- Have experience in Engineering, Airline, or Aerospace Industry.
- Be a graduate in Aeronautical Engineering/Commercial/Business Administration/Finance OR A Level with a minimum of 8 years in an airline or Maintenance and Repair Organisation (MRO).
- Have knowledge of Engineering support services processes and warranty systems.
- Have knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance practices and processes.
- Have basic training on familiarization aircraft, airframe, engines and avionics.
- Demonstrated management/supervisory experience.
- Have good knowledge of contracts, and experience in contracts interpretation.
- Have solid reporting writing, data analysis, analytical thinking skills.
- Must be computer literate and proficient in Excel.
