Responsibilities:

As the contract manager you will be responsible on behalf of the Fleet Director for the management of Hitachi Rail’s obligations and any potential impacts or risks associated with the contracts and providing guidance and support to the HS2 works at our London North Pole site. This role will also involve regular UK travel.

  • Provide support to both East and West IEP MSA Contracts acting as the Manufacturer Delivery Manager.
  • Support contract discussions and agreements, on behalf of HRL, to negotiate and execute the HS2 variation and associated works at London North Pole TMC.
  • Support the management of DACs & DAAs and to support the procurement and management of third party suppliers ensuring their delivery of obligations to meet the business needs, including but not limited to;
  • Contract Change Management – manage proposed variations to scope based on business requirements or supplier requests,
  • Identification, management and escalation of issues & risks,
  • Regular management and governance of contractual deliverables,
  • Management of costs of these contracts – identifying opportunity for spend reduction.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities affecting the MSA contracts, managing impacts and mitigations as necessary.
  • Coordinate new contracts and variations to contracts, ensuring these align with business delivery obligations and mitigating risk accordingly.
  • Coordinate insurance obligations to support TSA deliverables.
  • Support the depot lifecycle costs with the facilities teams.
  • Formulate and draft investment proposals in relation to depot facilities to ensure value for money and to mitigate MSA & TSA delivery risks.
  • Develop and maintain solid professional relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally with suppliers and customers.
  • Maintain a customer focused delivery.
  • Report progress, feed into performance reports and give verbal briefs and presentations as required.
  • Promote, support and comply with all health and safety practices in the workplace.
  • Undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with Hitachi’s new business demands as required.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Fleet Director
