Annual salary: up to £39,000.00
Contract Safeguarding Lead
Basingstoke or Manchester (flexible for the right candidate)
Nationwide travel required
Salary up to £39,000 per annum plus company car or car allowance
Full time, 12 month fixed term contract with likely extension, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Mears work in partnership with central and local government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs. Due to a new contract win we are seeking a Contract Safeguarding Lead to join our team. You will be working on a specialist central government accommodation contract.
The role holder will work alongside current safeguarding leads on all safeguarding matters including the work to embed learning, prevent harm, and ensure that we meet our contractual obligations. You will ensure the effectiveness of processes policies and procedures responding to concerns regarding the welfare of vulnerable service users received from central and local government, welfare support officers, representatives from VCS/3rd Sector organisations, and members of the public.

About the Role:

  • Maintain a programme of assurance to ensure that standards of safeguarding are maintained across all areas of the contract.
  • Provide leadership support to welfare support officers and other staff working across the contract.
  • Represent Mears on safeguarding meetings; support multi-agency meetings and attend any other relevant meetings.
  • Establish regular safeguarding case review meetings with internal staffing teams.
  • Ensure our training tools (Mears Learning) and resources are used to maximum effect.
  • Tap into any local safeguarding training, where regional variations apply.
  • Establish relevant links across the statutory and voluntary sector, and health professionals across the contract area.
  • Establish and/or develop strong working relationships both internally and externally.

Role Criteria:

  • Previous experience working with vulnerable and/or diverse client groups
  • Safeguarding knowledge and experience
  • Relevant qualifications in a safeguarding related field (desirable)
