WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Rheinmetall Canada is currently looking for a Contract Specialist to join our Finance service. The incumbent will work closely with project managers. As a Contract Specialist, you will be responsible to ensure the proper execution of contracts and the achievement of contractual and business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

  • College or university education in legal, business or administrative field.
  • At least three years experience in legal, technology, procurement or contracting (any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).
  • Understanding of government procurement processes and regulations.
  • Proven ability to analyze and understand contract terms.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities in parallel.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English. *
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in the following software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR or US Government contracts would be an asset.
  • Most of Rheinmetall Canada’s customers and partners are from outside Quebec, as is its subsidiary Rheinmetall Provectus, which is based in Ontario

Responsibilities:

  • Support managers throughout the project life cycle, from proposal writing up to the warranty period.
  • Monitor and facilitate project progress through to contract completion to ensure execution according to the negotiated terms.
  • Review customer requirements, as well as terms and conditions of RFPs and new contracts.
  • Request or approve contract amendments or extensions.
  • Coordinate the review of contract documents and the completion of tasks assigned to other departments, subcontractors and consultants.
  • Act as point of contact for customers and external legal counsel on contractual issues.
  • Ensure that customers comply with contractual, legal and government regulations.
  • Maintain an audit file for each contract, including the original contract, its amendments, and payment schedules.
