Technician
Salary: Technician Grade 1 with a Salary Scale of €35,446 to €46,485

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Level 6 qualification, (as recognised on the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent), in microbiology or a related discipline.
  • A degree and/or research experience in microbiology or food science would be a distinct advantage.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent microbiological laboratory skills.
  • Proven organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage large data sets.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Broad knowledge of microbial food safety and spoilage.
  • Data storage and analysis approaches.
  • Food (meat) safety legislation and regulatory environment.
  • Experience of food/meat microbiology analysis.
  • Aptitude for working in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Knowledge of meat production and processing.
  • Knowledge and experience of technologies relevant to the food industry.
