Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Contracts Administrator you will assist in preparations and negotiate with sub-contractors for the calling of quotations and letting of contracts and provide contract administration services to assist in the project’s control of contract costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Draft scopes of works and tender packages to accompany requests for quotations issued to subcontractors for projects
  • Conduct initial investigations with subcontractors to clarify the organisation’s conditions relating to contracts for prospective projects
  • Operate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Project Costs Reporting (PCR), Asset Registers, Commercial Pack database and Contract Sum
  • Ensure cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained and keep project management teams abreast of any cost’s issues immediately upon identification
  • Assess commercial and contractual risks involved in delivery and implementation of projects and identify and implement controls

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS KEY ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent ¬
  • Post graduate qualifications e.g. graduate certificate, graduate diploma in Commerce, Accounting, Business, Construction, Property, Quantity Surveying, Law or other associated disciplines
  • 2-5 years’ experience working as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction and engineering industry
  • Relevant commercial administration experience in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or associated disciplines
