Description:
Brasenwall Professional Consultants - Our client is one of the leading electricity contractors in Power Generation, Transmission, and Distribution Projects. The company is chiefly known as the market leader and innovator in the solar and renewable energy space of the Nigerian Power Sector.
They are currently recruiting to fill the position below:
DESCRIPTION
- To coordinate and manage the contracting and procurement activities in the most cost-effective manner while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Business, Economics, Law, Engineering, or similar degrees.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Postgraduate degree or an M.Sc. with relevant professional certifications.
- Independent power producer or renewable energies industry experience preferred.
- Skilled in various business and ERP systems to address changing business models.
- Demonstrated knowledge at commercial structuring of power contracts.
Job Specification:
- A First Degree or its equivalent from a reputable University.
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in a Power company, with at least 2 years of experience in a managerial capacity.
- Experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects would be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of the power industry.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
- Understanding of leading practices, principles, and techniques in contract and procurement.
- Appreciation of local and international contracting/procurement laws and regulations.
- Appreciation of accruing practices as they apply to contracting and procurement procedures.
- High level of professionalism, business ethics, and integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Procurement Plans for Goods and Services, applying the appropriate selection methods.
- Maintain awareness of market conditions, including source lists, price availability, and competitiveness, and ensure that costs are fair and reasonable.
- Support the Technical Team in the preparation of technical specifications or requirements for Goods and Services to ensure compliance with set standards, regulations, procedures, and process requisition.
- Prepare solicitation requests for Bidders/Vendors, and prepare Bidding Documents following the relevant procurement method.
- Support in preparing Contract Documents.
- Support in monitoring the implementation of the contracts to ensure that the agreed contract conditions are followed.
- Ensure that an efficient procurement filing system is in place, keeping track of the status of each procurement activity from request to receipt by the requester – and ensuring that priorities are met.
- Develop and discuss alternative solutions to identified procurement-related challenges.
- Provide hands-on training to the PIU on procurement matters.
- Conduct post-implementation review.
- Participate in meetings aimed at improving project implementation.
- Perform other related duties deemed necessary by the GMD, Directors, and other Heads of Unit.
