Description:

ATS Travel Ireland is an Inbound DMC/Tour Operator with offices in London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Florida, Monaco. We are looking for a travel professional to join our Irish team, with a focus on building relationships with hotels and service suppliers, contracting hotels group allocations and placing/negotiating tour series for our clients, as well as working with the team on ad hoc groups securing the most competitive agreements/space in Ireland. You will be travelling and meeting hoteliers, driving around Ireland to strengthen relationships with existing partners, find new properties and service suppliers to contract, and negotiate best terms for the company.
Key Skills Required:
- Experience in the Irish travel industry with groups, or in hotel sales functions, understanding of revenue, sales, seasonality, groups business.
- Excellent knowledge of Ireland as a destination, including its tourism products & hotels
- Ability to work as part of a team collaboratively and independently.
- Confident ability on computers for operations software and research
- The ability to multi-task, be level-headed and full of enthusiasm.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Very good numerical skills and ability on Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word
- Proven ability to negotiate, compromise, with and intent to reach win-win scenarios.
- At least 2 years’ experience in the Irish tourism industry
- An understanding of current rates to be expected at hotels, the principles of wash back, hotel revenue, allocations etc.
- Knowledge of Tourplan NX is a bonus but full training will be given.
- Outgoing, friendly personality who loves building relationships with people and enjoys social interaction.
- Willing to travel around Ireland visiting hotels on planned business schedules for the year to strengthen relationships
Summary of Role:
- To build a clear buying strategy for Ireland, setting group allocation objectives and placing strategy for all group series.
- To build and maintain a great working relationship with our hotel and service suppliers.
- To find space at hotels at the best rates for tour series and facilitating the relationships between the hotel reservations/sales and our teams in ATS also for ad hoc group placing, as well as allocating coach suppliers to the best opportunities, series and ad hoc groups.
- To assume responsibility for placing series and confirming details and spaces with the Business development and the sales department, at the budgets and locations required, with ideal terms and conditions.
- To keep your hotels and services product knowledge updated via research, site visits and regular placing trips.
- To monitor and hold the relationships with coach suppliers, contracting best rates and space for series.
- Keep track of cancellation deadlines for Bedbanks, fulfilment of allocations and nesting space contracted, evaluating risks on overbookings with regular discussions also with the GMs and operations managers/supervisors.
- To insert all seasonal space in the operations system with great attention to detail, following all procedures and process accordingly to minimize errors.
- To create and update yearly quoting rates by location and category, to facilitate no name quotes for the quoting department, highlighting special event periods.
- Working through cancellation reports for Bedbanks based on deadlines by contracts signed, using the reports from the operations software.
- Ability to work under pressure, different client markets have different requirements, different categories, different meal providers, coach suppliers, keeping a calm level-headed demeanor.
- Working with passion with different teams in the most collaborative way, communication being a key aspect, both in writing and phone.
