Description:

CONTRACTS MANAGER

This is an exciting opportunity to join a modern and rapidly growing construction company, working on sites up and down the country. You will be responsible for leading a team of Site Managers, overseeing and organising high-profile projects throughout the UK.
You must have a varied knowledge and skill set across the construction industry with the ability to manage more than one project at any one time.
The successful candidate will be flexible, self-motivated and take pride in delivering quality on our multi-disciplined projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • It is essential that you have at least 3 years of commercial site experience
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and complex contractual documents – accuracy and attention to detail is key
  • Ability and willingness to use MS Office (Excel, Word & Project)
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with the minimum of supervision
  • Full driving licence
  • SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Asbestos Awareness
    The ideal candidate must be flexible with working away during the week (return home Friday) as sites are nationwide; ideally applicant to reside within a commutable distance from the offices in Chester.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a project team, its employees and sub-contractors, ensuring efficient workflows and quality standards
  • Estimate, purchase and coordinate resources, materials, plant and labour for project delivery
  • Manage all aspects of contract administration, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts
  • Control contract costs and optimize profit through procurement and variation opportunities
  • Review drawings and raise RFI’s
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, laws and regulations
  • Assess potential issues and identify areas for improvement
  • Communicate all issues to the Project Manager in a timely manner
  • Produce and implement site health and safety documents
  • Manage quality procedures by ensuring works are completed to high standard
  • Review daily tasks and manage the programme of works (MS Project)
  • Ensure Site Manager is completing all relevant paperwork
  • Manage all hired-in plant on sites and ensure timely collections
