Job description
We have a current opportunity for a Contracts/Procurement Engineer on a contract basis based in the Fort Saskatchewan area for approximately 12+ month on a full-time base.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE MAY INCLUDE:

  • Planning and Performance
  • Category Management Analysis
  • Contract Management
  • Sourcing and Operation

To be succesful, required includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree - technical field is preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience in applying this discipline in oil and gas projects
  • Familiar with a variety of disciplines and concepts
  • Contract Position of approximately 12-15 months.
  • Legally permitted (current) to work in Canada
  • Mon-Fri 8am-5pm in the Fort Saskatchewan are of Alberta and willing to start ASAP.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE INCUDES:

The incumbent will play a pivotal role in providing the essential support needed to deliver cost-effective solutions that impact our client’s businesses positively and form long-term relationships with our partners and suppliers. In particular, this includes contractors committed to social performance and a cleaner global energy.
The Contract and Procurement team is responsible for everything our client buys to develop and operate its assets, equating to approximately $65 billion in annual spend. It’s a thrilling environment for individuals with proven experience to continue there growth within the industry.
To be successful the incumbent must be familiar/experienced with a variety of the discipline’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performs a variety of tasks with minimal day to day supervision. Has begun to demonstrate some breadth in applying skills to different project phases and / or acquiring experience in other related disciplines. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES:

  • Analyzing supplier/category market intelligence
  • Developing cost models
  • Contract bidding and negotiating

  • Implementing and localizing procurement corporate strategies
