Description:

Peabody is a leading global coal producer, providing essential products for the production of affordable, reliable energy and steel. The company offers significant scale, high-quality assets, and diversity in geography and products. Peabody is guided by seven core values: safety, customer focus, leadership, people, excellence, integrity and sustainability.

Responsibilities:

We have a 12 month Max-term opportunity for a Contract and Shipping Specialist to join our Sales and Marketing team here at Peabody, based in Brisbane. Reporting to our Senior Sales Support Manager, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate execution of Peabody’s coal sales contracting and laytime calculations. Peabody Energy’s sales and logistics function is a fast-paced, exciting environment charged with managing sales and logistics related activities in real time. This role may require occasional tasks to be completed outside of office hours (remotely if required).

Other responsibilities include:

  • Prepare regular reports and updates on contract status, compliance and performance.
  • Work closely with the logistics functions to undertake vessel laytime calculations in accordance with customer/charter party agreements.
  • Prepare EOM tasks including but not limited to the calculation of provisional revenue adjustments, demurrage accruals and commission calculations.

The lifestyle:
