As an Advanced Apprentice you will experience a varied work life. No two days will be the same.

  • Working in accordance with COMAH Safety Regulations to keep yourself, your colleagues & the public safe.
  • Working on instruments & gauges located at the top of the 50-meter-high storage tanks.
  • Shadowing experienced Technicians & Engineers to gain new skills and knowledge in the field.
  • Working outdoors in various locations, embracing different weather conditions.
  • Collaborating as an enthusiastic team player to achieve challenging tasks.
  • Receive technical training to support your development & knowledge
  • Receiving Health and Safety training including behavioural safety leading to role-specific authorizations

Responsibilities:

Grain LNG Importation Terminal is currently a company of National Grid and is of strategic national importance to UK energy infrastructure and the security of supply. We are the largest terminal in Europe and eighth largest in the world by tank capacity with a site that spans over 600 acres in total. Grain LNG aims to be the foremost LNG importation terminal in the world, with a first-class team delivering high performance for our customers, communities, through unparalleled safety, reliability and efficiency.
Our Control & Instruments Team are responsible for maintaining the safe and reliable operation of Grain LNG’s assets through the effective completion of planned and corrective maintenance for the LNG Terminal. The Team are part of the Terminal’s Maintenance Team and work alongside other departments and teams to achieve our goals.
This is an ideal role for a someone looking to become a Control & Instruments Technician within the Energy Industry with an interest in the following core behaviours:
